About This Product

This Rheem Classic Series heat pump unit is designed for ground level or rooftop installation. The Rheem RPNL Classic model features cooling efficiencies up to 14 SEER/12.25 EER, and heating efficiencies up to 8.2 HSPF. The higher the SEER level, the greater your energy savings will be over time. This heat pump includes an on demand defrost control. The demand defrost control monitors the outdoor ambient temperature, outdoor coil temperature, and the compressor run-time to determine when a defrost cycle is required.

The RHLL features GE's new X-13 ECM motor, which provides enhanced SEER performance with Rheem outdoor units. The X-13 motors are high efficiency motors that were developed by General Electric to help manufacturers meet the 13 SEER mandate implemented by the federal government in 2006. They are based on ECM (Electronically Commutated Motor) technology and can contribute to increasing the overall cooling efficiency of a complete HVAC system when used as the curculating air blower motor in a furnace, air handler or packaged unit. GE refers to the X13 motor as a standard ECM motor.

Expansion valve on indoor coil provides for operation with air conditioning or heat pump using the same coil.

Rheem RPNL Classic Features:

• Scroll compressor is hermetically sealed and incorporates internal high temperature motor overload protection, and durable insulation on the motor windings. It is externally mounted on rubber grommets to reduce vibration and noise.
• Enhanced Compressor Protection—Features an enhanced defrost control, auto-reset high pressure control, and auto-reset low pressure control to provide compressor protection under abnormally high head pressure conditions (outdoor fan failure, restriction, dirty coil, etc.) or abnormally low suction pressure conditions (restrictions, TEV failure, loss of charge, indoor blower failure, etc.) while eliminating nuisance tripping sometimes experienced with conventional control systems.
• Factory Charged with R-410A Refrigerant.
• Copper Tube/Aluminum Fin Coils—Both indoor and outdoor coils.
• Internal Check Valve—Providesfor quieter refrigerant metering.
• Refrigerant Metering—TEV accurately meter refrigerant into indoor and outdoor coils.
• Bi-Directional Filter Drier—Standard on RPNL- *AZ models (shipped – not installed).

• Non-Cycling Reversing Valve—Eliminates discharge noises on each heating cycle.
